Benefits of aerobic training

Aerobic training is training procedure using large muscle groups to perform rhythmic movements which to a certain level raises the heart rate and breathing for a certain period. It is a practice in which the heart rate is 55% to 90% of the maximum, and the stable state of the body is achieved between the input and the need for oxygen. In the exploitation of food ingredients, in the cycle of energy production for muscular work oxygen is used . Then we say that the energy comes from aerobic sources. An example of aerobic exercise are: jogging, rowing, step, cycling, aerobics, swimming, hiking, etc.

What are the beneficial effects of aerobic exercise?

Physiological changes:


1. Increase the size of the heart muscle
2. Increased strength of cardiac contraction
3. More blood per contraction
4. Lower resting heart rate
5. Lower the pulse at submaximal load
6. Larger dimensions of blood vessels
7. The more blood that supplies the heart
8. Reduces the risk of heart attack
9. A higher percentage of survival in heart attack

Blood vessels and blood chemistry:
1. Reduces Systolic and diastolic blood pressure at rest
2. Reduces LDL cholesterol and triglycerides
3. Increases HDL cholesterol (good cholesterol)
4. Reduces the risk of sclerosing vessels
5. It increases blood volume
6. The greater transport capacity of oxygen (hemoglobin)

1. Greater functional capacity during exercise
2. The higher blood flow to the lungs
3. Increases the diffusion of respiratory gases
4. Reduces the dysfunctional lung capacity
5. Greater vital capacity (breathing capacity)

1. Increases muscle tone (tension)
2. Better blood flow (capillarization)
3. Better enzyme function in muscle cells
4. Increases resistance to muscle fatigue
5. Better general appearance
Psychological changes:
1.Better personal performance
2.Greater personal satisfaction
3.Reduces  the tension caused by psychological stress
4.Increases ability relaxation
