Benefits of zinc

When you mention zinc guys will first think of testosterone, and the girls – and perhaps to some treatments in a beauty parlor. In any case, zinc is much more important than as a  ingredient ZMA and cure for pimples.
Let’s start with the obvious – Zinc is indispensable for life. And not just us. This mineral is essential for all life forms (known to us, one should add).

The role of zinc (Zn) in the body can be divided into three groups:
The first enzymatic role – about 300 enzymes require the presence of Zn. Without enzymes there is no chemical reaction and they are really the basis of our lives. So Zn is rightfully called the vital mineral. Pointless to enumerate these enzymes but let’s say that some of them are involved in the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins, and detoxification of alcohol.
Second structural role – proteins have 4D structure. It’s hard to describe, let alone imagine, but let’s say you look very carefully the implementation of snowballs. Their 4D structure is as important as the composition of amino acids in them and it is crucial that these “lumps” are very precise form. And that’s one of the roles of Zn. This is for example the most important antioxidant enzyme in the body SOD (Superoxide Dismutase) – Zn has a role that it fits like a key in a lock reactions which prevents the spread of free radicals (harmful substances in the body). This group can be counted and the ability of Zn improves the healing of wounds.
Third regulatory role – Zn participates in the regulation of hormone secretion (insulin and regulates the activity of thyroid hormones), gene expression, the natural death of cells (this is a good thing, encourage the creation of new, young cells). Zn has an important role in the regulation of the immune system to combat the virus. Therefore, the Zn is rightly popular in the treatment of the common cold.
