Eggs are rich in nutrients, contain significant quantities of almost all essential vitamins and minerals as well as other components that have a positive effect on health. The proteins from the eggs are of high quality and set the standard for comparison of protein from other foods.

The scientists found that some antioxidants, especially lutein and zeaxanthin can play an important role in reducing the risk of contracting one of these serious eye diseases.
